Exciting News: Evergreen Family Story Project Panel Accepted for OHA 2026

We are excited to share that our panel proposal has officially been accepted for the 2026 meeting of the Oral History Association, taking place October 14–17, 2026 in Portland.

Our panel, “Bringing Oral History Home: Intergenerational Storytelling among Chinese Immigrant Families,” will bring together voices and experiences from the Evergreen Family Story Project to explore how oral history can strengthen intergenerational dialogue, cultural memory, and community connection within immigrant families.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time, stories, reflections, and collaborative spirit to this work. It is an honor to share these community-centered narratives with oral historians, educators, and practitioners from around the world.

The conference committee noted that session schedules and program placement will be released in the preliminary program this June. We look forward to reconnecting with colleagues in Portland and continuing conversations around memory, migration, family storytelling, and the evolving role of oral history in rapidly changing social landscapes.

A special thank you to Nancy MacKay for leading and coordinating the panel submission process.

We are excited for what lies ahead — and proud to bring the voices of our communities into this important international conversation.

See you in Portland!
