All papers are to be in English or Chinese and the presenter must be fluent in English or Chinese.
The conference will cover a broad range of topics on the library service for local cultural studies, planning and preservation of oral history, including:
Impact of Oral History on Local Community (includes issues related to cultural heritage, enhancing knowledge and skills of various community members, including community leaders, interviewers, students and teachers).
Principles and Best Practices in Oral History (includes best practices in all aspects - planning, interviewing, evaluating, archiving; case studies that illustrate the importance of best practices)
Planning Oral History Projects (includes selection of topic, project goals, selection of interviewees, project leaders, role of various personnel, including library, professors, and others, training interviewers, and identification of resources, such as money and equipment; case studies that illustrate planning success and failure)
Role of Oral History in Student Learning (includes evaluation of student performance)
Legal and Ethical Aspects of Oral History (includes issues related to Interviewing, Archiving and Access; case studies that illustrate ethical and legal issues)
Oral History in the Digital Age (Use of Technology in planning, interviewing, archiving, providing access)
Oral History Archiving and Access (includes processing, transcribing, cataloging, preserving, repositories, and providing access to oral history collections)
