Early booking is recommended as these special tours could be fully booked by the time of the conference. Please indicate the tours of your choice on the online booking form and this should be accompanied by payment in full.
The tour may be canceled if we do not have sufficient people.
October 18 to 26:A 9 day tour starting in Shanghai on October 18th and ending in Changsha, Hunan on October 26th. The tour starts in Shanghai (including a visit to the Bazaar, the Bund with a river cruise and the Shanghai Museum), the garden city of Suzhou, the skinny West Lake of Yangzhou, the Confucius temple and Ming Tombs of Nanjing, and the ancient capital Xi’an. You will visit Banpo (a Neolithic village), the Terra Cotta Soldiers, and Huaqing Hot Springs. You will fly from Xi’an to Changsha on October 26th.
Itinerary:
Oct. 18:Arriving in Shanghai. Find your way to the hotel (The Riverview Hotel上海滨江欣景, 中国上海市 黄浦区中山南路76号 200010, 电话:+86(021)63306060 ) Dinner included.
Oct. 19:After breakfast, visit the Shanghai museum, Yu garden, the Bazaar, take a cruise on the Huangpu River to view the night scene of Shanghai after dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 20:After breakfast, your tour bus will take you to the garden city of China, Suzhou. You will visit 2 formal gardens and these gardens are unique combinations of buildings, pavilions, lakes, and important placements of rocks from Tai Lake as well as trees and carefully thought out positioning of a wide variety of plants. You will visit one of the major gardens called the Humble Administrator’s Garden, the central city street, and after dinner you will visit “Lingering Garden” with traditional performances in the rooms and pavilions as you walk through the “garden”. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 21:After Breakfast, your tour bus will take you to Wuxi, the beautiful city by Tai Lake. In the old days, this city produced excellent clay figurines. You will visit the Lingshan big Buddha, the recreation of the romance of the 3 kingdoms (220–280 AD) and a cruise on the beautiful Tai Lake. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 22:After breakfast your tour bus will take you to Yangzhou, one of the major business centers and wealthy cities in China during the Qing dynasty, over a hundred years ago. It has its own excellent cuisine which you will sample. You will visit Ge Garden, Daming Temple and take a leisurely boat ride on the Skinny West Lake. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 23:After breakfast you will visit the Ming Emperors’ burial grounds, the Confucius temple, where scholars took the all important imperial exams. You will have some free time to walk through the huge bazaar (this is a good place to pick up souvenirs). View the QingHuai river area where Geishas, scholars and poets gather in the past. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 24:After Breakfast you will fly to Xian. You will visit the HanYang Mausoleum, built right over the excavation site. Then, you will visit the largest water fountain show by the Big Goose Pagoda after dinner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 25:After Breakfast you will visit the Neolithic village of Banpo, the amazing terra cotta soldiers, Huaqing Hotsprings compound used by the Tang Emperor, You will then see a spectacular outdoor show (weather permitting) called “Unending Sorrow” Base on a famous poem about a Tang Emperor and his concubine, reputed to be the most beautiful woman of China. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.
Oct. 26: After breakfast you will visit the city walls before taking a flight to Changsha in the afternoon. We will bring you to your hotel in Changsha where the tour ends.
Costs: $1800 per person (double occupancy) $2100 for single room. This cost includes hotels, meals, ground transportation, entrance fees, electric cart at Terra cotta soldiers, 3 boat rides, the lingering garden performances, the Unending sorrow show, 2 domestic flights, tour guides and tips. This cost does not include personal purchases.
A half day tour of Changsha.Costs:$50
Starting morning of October 29th to November 6th. A nine day tour starting in Changsha and includes Zhang Jia Jie and Fenghuang (Phoenix town).
This tour takes you to the spectacular scenery at Zhangjiajie and the ancient town of Fenghuang with small villages along the way. At the end of the trip, we can help you with travel arrangements to your next port of call.
Itinerary:
Oct. 29: In the morning visit Yuelu Academy - the earliest college with thousand years history (stay for about 1 hour). Then to Orange Beach. The last scenic site is Ai Wan Pavilion with beautiful red maple leaves. Then take 4 hours ride to Zhang Jia Jie.
Oct. 30:After breakfast, visit Tian Meng Mountain (Gate of heaven mountain) with longest cable car ride viewing Zhang Jia Jie city. Watch the night music show “Fox fairy in Tianmeng” (about 90 mints) at night.
Oct. 31:Visit Zhang Jia Jie National Forest Park— one of the world heritage site in China. Then visit Yellow Stone Fort by cable car, Visit the Golden Wipe Stream and its beautiful scenery sites. Watch Tu minority show “Amazing Xiang Xi” (about 2 hours) at night.
Nov. 1:Visit Yun Jia Jie scenic site which was featured by << Avatar>> . Then, to Tianzi Mountain scenic site by cable car.
Nov. 2:Visit Yellow Dragon cave in the morning. Visit Lake Baofeng in the afternoon.
Nov. 3:Visit Sitting Dragon Canyon, then to Hibiscus Old Town with 2000 years of history
Nov. 4:Visit Ganzhou ancient city, Xiangxi Aizai Bridge (the longest suspension bridge), Dehang great canyon, arrive Phoenix Town at night.
Nov. 5:Tour Phoenix Town in the morning for local specialties. Then either go to Changsha or back to Zhang Jia Jie or stay in Phoenix town depending on where you plan to go the next day when the tour ends. We will be happy to help you with your travel arrangements.
Nov. 6: Tour ends after breakfast.
Costs: $1275 per person (double occupancy) $1525 for single room– includes hotels, meals, ground transportation , cable car, entrances fees, 2 shows, tour guide and tips. Does not include personal purchases. Tour start in Changsha and will end in Fenghuang. (However, we can provide transportation to either Changsha or Zhang Jia Jie, depending on your next travel arrangements).

Should you wish to cancel or amend a tour booking this request must be made in writing by email to the Conference Secretariat and received no later than September 1, 2014. A 5% cancellation fee applies for all types of tours.

After October 1, 2012 no refunds can be made if you cancel your tour.
The Conference Secretariat reserve the right to cancel tours in the event that minimum numbers are not reached to enable these to be viable. Should this occur, delegates will be advised in advance of cancellation and offered the option to book an alternative tour or alternatively receive a full refund of any deposits paid.
