Using the Assessment Framework   ä½¿ç”¨è¯„估构架

Requires some basic background in measures and basic methods of collecting the required data

The Assessment Framework tells you which form is recommended to collect the required data for each indicator

          measure as well as how to calculate the data.

  • One of the instruments is a form to be completed by the library or school administrative staff: Administrative Statistics, which includes information collected from a tally of visits to the library over the course of a year

•Good Measures are  å¥½çš„方法是：
 
 
–Valid – measure what you intend to measure (What does asking people if they are satisfied with the
 
               quality of service measure?)
 
 
–有效的 – 达到评估目的 (用户是否对服务质量满意？)
 
 
 
–Reliable – stable and dependable; interpreted in the same way by different respondents (Is classifying
                     
                     questions by information vs. research going to yield reliable results?)
 
 
–可靠的 – 稳定可靠；不同受访者理解一致 (研究结果是否可靠？)
 
–Practical – easy to collect; does not burden staff or respondents
 
–实用的 – 收集容易；不会对回答者造成负担

 

–  Useful – provides information to improve library services. Treat every question as a scarce resource,
                    like “gold”
 
–有用的 – 提供改善图书馆服务的有用信息。   对每一个问题都认真对待
 
 
 
Next part of the presentation presents the four basic methods and discusses the strengths and
weaknessesof each method.  Each method has strengths and weaknesses and understanding the
limitations is important in using your data effectively to determine library success.
